How come americans are so much in need of a gun whereas europeans see it as a dangerous vehicle and prefer not to legalise its use? where is the catch, you think?

Alexy, this is where we just have to admit that they don't tick like we do... I have heard many a politician in the USA recently saying "If we had more liberal gun laws, the students and professors could have had a gun and stopped the massacre". Whereas in Europe the first reaction is to say that nobody should have guns...
